FAD Vision and Mission
The FAD Festival Society, a non profit organization, aims to produce an organized, coordinated program of events showcasing, encouraging and celebrating three key sectors in the Vancouver economy: fashion, art and design. Through a diverse, professional and high-standard business to consumer series of events, the festival will expose businesses and artists to a multiple day presentation of works to the general population, bringing international focus on the diverse body of works within and around Vancouver and BC. The work presented will be inclusive of the diversity of cultures and talents available in Vancouver, including the unique contributions of the aboriginal communities and the City’s sister initiatives in the area of sustainability, environmental impacts and public art.
Our mission is to create a new cross industry event in Vancouver that will bring the multi-layered fashion, art and design communities and their supporters together in alignment with the mandate of the City of Vancouver’s Creative City initiative, fostering an environment of connectivity. As a part of the annual civic calendar, the diversity of this celebration of Vancouver will aid in branding the city as one that celebrates and promotes the diversity of talent and individual efforts that represent fashion, art and design to the people of the city and province.
In achieving our mission and vision goals, we will involve individual artists, businesses, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, municipal and regional tourism, local community, neighbourhoods and the government, as well as invited contributors and participants from outside of Greater Vancouver.

This art project has as it's goal bringing people together. Community is the theme of our event and with this interactive application, we will give the public the opportunity to express themselves and celebrate their individual-ness. Fashion, art and design lovers from around the world will contribute to our continually growing collage of creativity...

WHEN IS A GOOD TIME TO BUILD WALLS?
FAD Wall creates an online community for people to connect, share and be inspired by fashion, art and design
Vancouver, BC, Canada, August 14th, 2012 – Fashion Art Design (FAD) Society announced today the official launch of the FAD Wall (www.fadvancouver.com) which is an online forum for a community made up of people from all interests and backgrounds who are eager to connect, share and be inspired by fashion, art and design and the impact on our daily and future lives.
Created as an interactive art project, the FAD Wall will bring people together, letting them express their passions and individualism while bridging to a community with a global voice. Everyone is able to participate by creating their own profile through the completion of a simple form and a picture uploaded on the Fad Wall.
“Fashion, art and design lovers will be able to contribute and immerse themselves in our continuously growing collage of creativity - developing new connections, inspiring new ideas and collaborations.” states Amalia Chiloflischi, FAD Society CEO & Festival Executive Producer. “We are looking forward to the evolution of the project and watching the community build as a symbol of removing barriers and tearing down walls through the construction of this virtual wall of community partnership.”
Pictures uploaded on the FAD Wall will be displayed in random order, creating a mosaic that will act as the ongoing background for the website – which will shift and evolve as friends and details are added. The FAD Wall will allow users to view and share their profiles with the world, creating an opportunity to express and to celebrate their own individual as well as common interests.
FAD’s website will be the first of many community focused presentations designed to give Vancouver and the world an online network to connect, share and be inspired.
